President Isaac Herzog on Wednesday condemned talk of civil war, calling on all sides of the political aisle to preserve Israeli democracy and unity despite deep political and social disagreements.
“I strongly reject any notion of civil war, but I know some are raising it. We must act responsibly and call on all our elected officials to lower the tone,” he told local youth during a visit to the northern city of Tiberias.
“We have a noble mission to preserve the State of Israel and not to descend into division and the disasters that befell our people in previous generations.”
