Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich visited the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange, where he announced his intention to approve the move to trading days from Monday to Friday, instead of Sunday to Thursday, in order to "adapt the Israeli capital market to international standards," according to Smotrich's office. His office also noted that "Friday trading will end at 2:00 p.m., in order to ensure observance of the Sabbath and to take into account the needs of all market participants. Due to the need for various market players to prepare and provide solutions for various interfaces, the change is expected to take effect in early 2026."
