The Health Ministery on Thursday confirmed Israel's fourth case of monkeypox in a 28-year-old man who returned from abroad.
The man arrived at Ramat Gan's Sheba Medical Center with monkeypox-like symptoms. The Israel Institute for Biological Research later confirmed that man was carrying the disease.
Monkeypox is a viral disease that usually manifests itself in fever, blistering rash and enlargement of lymph nodes.
The ministry calls on travelers who have developed a fever and a blistering rash after returning from abroad or coming in close contact with a person who is suspected of having monkeypox to contact their attending physician.
