French President Emmanuel Macron on Friday reaffirmed France’s commitment to peace in the Middle East, backing Israel’s security and a Palestinian state without Hamas. In a post on X, Macron called for the release of hostages, a lasting ceasefire, resumption of humanitarian aid, and renewed pursuit of a two-state solution.
He said a June conference on the issue “must be a turning point,” adding that France is working with partners to make it happen. Macron warned against “shortcuts, provocations, misinformation, and manipulation,” and stressed that unity is essential amid ongoing tensions.
