Opposition leader Benjamin Netanyahu says he will examine sending weapons to Ukraine if he is reelected as prime minister, he told USA Today in an interview published on Friday.
Netanyahu told the paper that he expects to be asked to mediate between Russia and Ukraine if elected.
According to him, Russian President Vladimir Putin "is guided by his vision of re-establishing the great Russian Empire. I hope he reconsiders it."
Netanyahu added that "I want to be prime minister, get all the information and then make decisions about whether and what we will do in this conflict beyond what we have done so far."
