UN extends Golan peacekeeping mission for six months

The UN Security Council extended on Friday the mandate of the United Nations Disengagement Observer Force (UNDOF) on the Golan Heights for six months, maintaining its oversight of the buffer zone between Israel and Syria.
Israeli UN Ambassador Danny Danon welcomed the decision, saying, “Israel will continue to cooperate with the UN forces operating in the area. We will keep monitoring developments in Syria.”
