About 1,200 people in Tokyo, the capital of Japan, marched in support of Israel. The demonstrators came from various regions, including the northern island, Hokkaido, the southern island of Kyushu, Osaka and Nagoya. Representatives of the Israeli and Jewish community also came to the march, which was led by diplomats from the Israeli Embassy in Japan. Israel's ambassador to Japan, Gilad Cohen, said: "I am moved by the huge demonstration of support for Israel that took place today in Tokyo. Friends are measured in times of need and the citizens of Japan and our friends demonstrated this today." (Itamar Eichner)
