An Israeli delegation led by Strategic Affairs Minister Ron Dermer flew to Cairo for talks with Egyptian Intelligence Chief Hassan Rashad regarding a Gaza ceasefire. Egypt, acting as mediator, is expected to present Israel with a five-year ceasefire proposal in exchange for the release of all hostages, which Israel is expected to reject. The talks are taking place after Egyptian officials had already discussed the matter with senior Hamas delegation.
