US, Israeli officials will discuss harm to civilians in Gaza next month

Senior U.S. and Israeli officials will hold talks in early December in the first meeting of a new channel requested by Washington to raise concerns over harm to civilians in the war in Gaza, State Department spokesperson Matthew Miller said on Tuesday. U.S. officials have identified nearly 500 potential incidents of harm to civilians in the Palestinian enclave since Oct. 7, 2023 but have not taken action on any of them, sources said last month.
