The New York Police Department on Wednesday increased patrols in Jewish neighborhoods and around synagogues following recent assassinations of senior Hezbollah and Hamas leaders, citing concerns over potential hate crimes against the community.
Although no specific threats have been received, the NYPD emphasized that the additional patrols are a precautionary measure. Increased police presence will be notable around areas such as Crown Heights in Brooklyn. The police noted a significant rise in antisemitic hate crimes in New York since the Hamas attack on October 7.
