Hamas has submitted a request to the British government to remove the organization from its list of terrorist organizations, claiming that it is a "Palestinian Islamic liberation and resistance movement, which aims to liberate Palestine and confront the Zionist project," Th Guardian reported. Hamas' senior political bureau official, Mousa Abu Marzook, submitted an affidavit in response to the request in which he wrote: "The British government's decision is unjust, and reflects its unwavering support for Zionism, apartheid, occupation and ethnic cleansing in Palestine for more than a century. Hamas does not pose and has never posed a threat to Britain, despite its ongoing complicity in the genocide of our people."
