After Gaza, Lebanon and Syria: Iran in the crosshairs

Opinion: Israel’s precision strikes on Hamas, Hezbollah and Iran highlight its strategy: defeat, not containment; to ensure stability, the fall of the mullah regime is imperative, demanding unwavering resolve to eliminate looming threats

Israel’s swift and decisive actions, reaching deep into Syria, signal a historic turning point. The IDF has become an unstoppable force, charging forward with purpose and precision. The offensive strategy adopted in recent months against Hamas, Hezbollah and Iran mirrors the American "shock and awe" doctrine, blending relentless bombardment, destabilization and eventual destruction. In the Middle East, enemies are not contained or understood—they are defeated. Iran, we’re coming.
Over a year into the Swords of Iron War, launched in response to a grave existential threat, Israel now stands on the brink of a modern-day Hanukkah miracle. As Hanukkah approaches, the nation celebrates its success in dismantling the chokehold that sought to destroy it.

Europe, paralyzed by the influx of Muslim refugees, watches in awe. A dramatic shift in European policy toward Israel seems inevitable, with stricter measures against Muslim populations and the erosion of the International Criminal Court’s biased rulings. In geopolitics, strength commands respect.
Meanwhile, many Gulf states—alongside India and the Central Asian nations encircling Iran—also recognize the transformative power of Israel’s actions. Iran’s destabilizing presence has stifled regional progress through bombings, terror and interference, such as the attacks on Saudi Aramco’s infrastructure. Now, these nations observe Israel’s resilience with admiration, awaiting their opportunity to align with its growing influence.
Israel’s bold moves have redefined its regional and global standing. It has neutralized its adversaries in Lebanon and Gaza, dismantled Syria’s Assad regime, weakened Russia’s influence and forced its strategic recalibration, paving the way for a potential U.S.-brokered peace in Ukraine. Even in Yemen and Iran, where others have hesitated, Israel acts decisively.

This relentless campaign is cementing Israel’s position as the Middle East’s preeminent power. For the nations once under direct Iranian threat, Israel’s rise offers hope for stability and prosperity. On the global stage, this momentum will usher in diplomatic and economic opportunities far beyond imagination.
Too bold? Consider this: where were we just a year ago? There is no parallel to Israel’s meteoric ascent in modern history. That is why Israel must not pause its campaign of shock and awe. Toppling the mullah regime is non-negotiable. Simply dismantling Iran’s nuclear capabilities won’t suffice while the regime remains in power.
The Iranian people, much like Syria’s revolutionaries, are waiting for their moment. Israel has the means to incapacitate the regime’s military and economic hubs, ignite chaos by targeting refineries and disrupt essential utilities like water and power. Such actions could spark mass unrest, leading Iranians to overthrow their leaders.

From the Maccabees to today, the arc of Israel’s journey as a nation and a people is nothing short of extraordinary. As we light our menorahs this Hanukkah, let us remember: this year, Israel’s lights burned brightly not just in homes but in the strongholds of its enemies. In Jabaliya, in Yemen, in Tehran—Israel ignited fierce flames that lit up the world.
This wasn’t just a victory; it was a statement. An invitation for the world to witness and join in the mitzvah of resilience and triumph. This is who we are—Israel, a beacon of light to the nations.
