The High Court issued a conditional order against the government regarding the law exempting ultra-Orthodox from military service. 'The respondents shall appear and explain why they do not issue or continue to issue draft orders for military service candidates referenced in the petitions, in accordance with military needs as presented periodically by military professional authorities; and why they do not enforce issued orders through effective personal enforcement measures against those who received draft orders but did not report as required,' the judges wrote. The response affidavit must be submitted by June 24.
