Erdogan meets Palestinian girl who cursed soldiers
Turkish PM meets 13-year-old girl who provoked IDF soldiers in Nabi Saleh last November. 'I did it to liberate Palestine,' she says
Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan had breakfast with Palestinian girl Waad Tamimi, who confronted Israeli soldiers in the West Bank village of Nabi Saleh last November. The provocation, led by 13-year-old Tamimi and her family, and the accompanying video, turned her into a Palestinian heroine.

Erdogan met Tamimi and her mother Nariman in a Turkish hotel in Sanliurfa region on Sunday. The Turkish news agency Anatolia reported that he talked with the two and gave them a few gifts. Later, young Tamimi said that this was the first time she had breakfast with a prime minister.
"I thank Prime Minister Erdogan for his hospitality and his support of Palestine," said the young girl. Last week Tamimi received a "Courage Award" in Istanbul. She also attended the opening of an exhibition titled "Being a child in Palestine".
A video of the protest, which has been uploaded to Youtube and has garnered thousands of views, shows a group of children, led by Tamimi, yelling and cursing the soldiers in a clear attempt to provoke a response.
Last November Tamimi's mother claimed that she was hit by a rubber bullet fired during a demonstration.
According to the mother, her daughter was sitting outside their home when soldiers fired rubber bullets and gas canisters at the house. She said one of them injured her hand, and she was rushed to a Ramallah hospital. Palestinian sources claim the incident was the IDF's response to the November incident.
