On Monday afternoon Prime Minister Ehud Olmert
will depart for a four-day trip in China's capital Beijing. Olmert is set to meet with Chinese President Hu Jintao and Prime Minister Wen Jiabao.
The PM's trip will complete a series of visits to the five countries which make up the UN Security Council's permanent members. In the last year, Olmert visited Moscow, Paris, London and Washington.
The declared purpose of the trip to Beijing is to hold talks on the Iranian nuclear threat.
The prime minister is scheduled to return to Israel on Friday morning.
During his visit, Olmert will meet with Chinese senior officials, including the trade and industry minister.
Olmert is also set to visit a joint Israeli-Chinese agricultural farm outside the capital, and attend a ceremony to mark 15 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations between Israel and China.
Olmert's trip will mark the first official visit of an Israeli prime minister to the country in the last decade.
