Egypt: Killing of 1967 POWs a war crime
Suleiman Awwad, a spokesman for Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak said on Tuesday that Israel committed a war crime during the Six Day War following allegations that an Israeli unit killed Egyptian POWs. The allegations rose after an Israeli documentary claimed that one battle with an Palestinian fedayeen regiment was unnecessary.
"Discussions over this subject express the rage on the Egyptian street over the war crimes committed against Egypt. The ministry of foreign affairs has been appointed to monitor the situation and it is in contact with several parties, including Israel," said Awwad. (Roee Nahmias)
