Former Eurovision winner, Dana International, will release her first album in five years this summer. Her latest single, “It’s all for the better”, was released Tuesday. Listen to it first here, on Ynetnews.
Dana is currently working on her new album, which includes songs written and composed by Dana herself.
“This isn’t the first time that I’ve really written,” Dana told Ynet, “I’ve always loved shoving my nose in different areas, but this is certainly the first time it’s a little more serious.
“I’ve had some things in my head for years and we decided to use them. One of the songs is very joyful and reflects the gay Dana, no pun intended. The other song is very melancholy. The lyrics are very personal,” Dana explained.
When asked why it took her five years to record another album, the former Eurovision winner said, “There is no special reason. I could sit here and go on about how it took me four years to create, and to reach the result that I wanted, but it would be a complete lie.”
She went on to say that she simply didn’t feel the need to record, until last year, when work on her new album began.
Regarding Israel’s entry for this year’s Eurovision – Teapacks – Dana said that she did not particularly like their song choice for the competition, but that she loved the band itself and had complete faith in them.
