A Qassam rocket launched from the northern Gaza Strip landed Wednesday morning in an open field in the Sderot area. No injuries or damage were reported.
This concluded another sleepless night for the residents of the southern town, after three Qassams and four mortars fired from the Gaza Strip landed in the area. The rockets all landed in open areas outside the town, the mortars next to the border fence between Israel and Gaza. The crude artillery attacks caused no injuries or other damage.
One of the rockets slammed into an area next to the residence of Sderot Mayor Eli Moyal.
"We ran into the safe room and stayed there. We later discovered that the rocket fell not far from my house, fortunately without causing any injuries or damages. This is the daily routine we live," said Moyal, who resides on the city's edge.
Only a few minutes before the Qassams were launched, paramedics from Magen David Adom were called to treat a 46 year old resident of Sderot who had been electrocuted.
They continued treating the patient during the warning siren, and heard the rockets land while evacuating the injured man. A group of the paramedics quickly joined the search for victims of the rocket attack, but it became clear that there were none.
