"For audiences around the world Neshama Carlebach
is not only a great singer in her own right, but the reincarnation of a legend. Her concerts have the flavor of a spiritualist revival somewhere between Woodstock and the Western Wall," wrote The Globe and Mail, Toronto.
In her own words, Neshama said: "From the moment I was old enough to know I was alive, I knew I wanted to perform. At the age of 5 years I trained as a singer and actor and began singing with my father, of blessed memory, when I was aged 15 years. Never in my lifetime did I imagine that I was developing the strength, knowledge and skill to follow in his footsteps."
'Splendid' magazine claimed her voice was heavenly and even when she sang in Hebrew an undeniable feeling of positive love floated out of the speakers. "For every 12 records you own by morally bankrupt artists, you deserve at least 1 Neshama Carlebach disc," they advised.
"My father always said that when we sing, it's like praying twice," added Neshama. "Somehow, when we don’t have the right words to express our needs and feelings, music says it all for us."
