US: Muslim charity member gets 65 years in prison

A founding member of a Muslim charity in Texas has been sentenced to 65 years in prison for sending millions of dollars to terrorists overseas.

Shukri Abu Baker was the first of five members of the Holy Land Foundation for Relief and Development to be sentenced Wednesday, according to The Dallas Morning News. A jury couldn't reach a verdict at the men's first trial. But in a retrial, they were convicted in November on 108 charges tied to allegations the charity sent more than $12 million to the Palestinian group Hamas. (AP)
