A junior minister with Britain's Foreign Office says his country is very concerned about the militant Hezbollah group rearming.
Ivan Lewis says the group is prohibited from rearming by a UN Security Council resolution that ended a 34-day war between Hezbollah and Israel during the summer of 2006.
Lebanese Foreign Minister Fawzi Salloukh told reporters after meeting with Lewis on Thursday in Beirut that Hezbollah's weapons are an internal Lebanese matter that is being discussed by rival factions.
Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah said recently that his group has replenished its weapons stock since the 2006 war and has more than 30,000 rockets.
The war killed around 1,200 people in Lebanon – mostly civilians – and 160 in Israel.
