Swedish PM says tabloid article won't compromise Stockholm's role in Mid-East

Swedish Prime Minister Fredrik Reinfeldt rejected estimates according to which tensions between Jerusalem and Stockholm may compromise his country's activity as president of the European Union of promoting the peace process in the Middle East.

Reinfeldt rejected Israel's call to Sweden to condemn the report by the local Swedish paper Aftonbladet according to which IDF troops harvested organs of Palestinians. He said it is not his government's role to respond to media publications and that freedom of speech is an integral part of Swedish democracy. (AFP)
