'Welcome to Givat Menahem'
"Kibbutz Givat Menahem," the outpost founded at the beginning of the month that was evacuated just days later, has returned, and this time in the form of a permanent structure. A security official said Monday to Ynet, "The work methods of the hooligans are well-known."
However, the Binyamin Settlers' Committee is not fazed: "The demolition orders are delaying the Jewish settlement, but we will prevail in the end."
Permanent structure built in Givat Menahem
At the beginning of November, an outpost was erected near Nahliel, which is in the West Bank's Binyamin Council. The settlers put up a makeshift structure and a shed, and called the place a kibbutz under the pretense that the defense establishment only evacuates outposts, not kibbutzim.
Last week, the Civil Administration demolished the buildings on the so-called kibbutz. However, Ynet has learned that the residents have recently erected a permanent structure in its place, pouring a foundation and laying large blocks to form a sizable building.
The Binyamin Settlers' Council said that the demolition orders issued by the defense minister do indeed delay their cause, but that they will prevail in the end. "The time has come for Ehud Barak to understand once and for all that the people of Israel have returned to the land of Israel in order to renew its hold over its fathers' land," they said.
The Civil Administration said in response, "The issue is known to us. The building is known. Cease work orders have been issued and enforcement actions against the building on the spot are underway."
The Civil Administration and defense forces evacuated two buildings in a farm near Mavo Dotan on Monday morning. No incidents were reported. Samaria Regional Council Chairman Gershon Mesika said, "The Civil Administration has reached epic evilness. This is a graduate of the commandos who is preserving State land on the site, who invested NIS 150,000 (about $39,400) out of his own pocket in a goat pen as Arab houses are being built unhindered in front of his very eyes."
