The same day minutes from his investigation were published, suspected Jewish terrorist Yaakov Teitel was brought to Jerusalem District Court Thursday for another hearing on the extension his remand. Teitel, as is his habit, flashed a 'V' for victory with his hand as he smiled and admitted with a nod of his head that he misses his wife and daughter who accompanied his mother to the hearing.
Judge Galia Steinitz extended Teitel's remand by an additional 19 days. Teitel was arrested in Jerusalem in a joint police-Shin Bet operation on October 7. He is suspected of murder, attempted murder, aggravated assault, arms offenses and racial incitement.

The State Prosecutor's Office asked that his remand be extended until the end of legal proceedings against him. State Prosecutor representative Attorney Sagi Ofir said that there is substantial evidence against Teitel taken from his detailed confessions of serious acts and a number of existing external corroborations.
Despite this, Teitel's new lawyer, Attorney Shaul Ezra, from the Public Defenders Office, claimed that he needs more time to learn the case material because he was only assigned to the case two days ago. Therefore, he asserted, he could not concur with the Prosecution's request to remand Teitel until the end of legal proceedings.
The judge ruled that under the give circumstances, it is reasonable to provide Ezra time to review the material before discussing whether to keep Teitel in policy custody until the end of legal proceedings.
Following the hearing, Teitel's lawyer told Ynet, "Regarding the reports on his testimonies, I would like to emphasize that the material has yet to be handed over to us… I still do not have a response to the reports. Teitel himself did not know about the media reports. In general, he feels fine."
