Turkey: Israeli Foreign Ministry crossed its boundaries
In response to Israeli claim that Turkey has no right to preach morality, Ankara says PM Erdogan only criticized Israel's actions in Gaza, stresses 'history of coexistence and respect' between Jews and Turks
Turkey harshly condemned the Israeli Foreign Ministry's statement it published on the remarks made by Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Monday.

The communiqué issued in Ankara Tuesday said that the Jerusalem's statement was issued for internal political purposes and crossed far over the boundaries. Turkey's official news agency Anatolia emphasized that Erdogan only criticized Israel's actions in the Gaza Strip and stressed the historic ties between the Turks and Jews.

"Turkey has helped Jews whenever they needed it throughout history, and the Turkish-Jewish coexistence represents a history of mutual respect and tolerance," the Turkish Foreign Ministry said.
"Therefore, we reject the allegations that Turkey has no right to preach morality to Israel," Turkey said, adding that claims of Turkish anti-Semitism are unfounded.
The statement further read, "The goal of Turkey's regional policy is to secure peace, security and stability to all countries and nations and prioritize peaceful dialogue instead of disproportional force and isolation."
