Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak has recently received a letter for US President Barack Obama detailing the United States' vision for post-presidential elections Egypt, the Kuwaiti paper al-Dar reported Friday.
According to the newspaper's sources, US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton relayed the letter to Mubarak during the peace summit in Sharm el-Sheik on Tuesday.

The US, the letter allegedly said, would support the results of the elections, regardless of whether Mubarak himself will seek another term in office, or whether his son Gamal, or any other candidate is elected president, as long as the elections are conducted in a free and transparent manner, and allow full participation by all candidates.
On her part, Clinton, said the report, said Washington will not endorse any specific candidate, adding the US would prefer to see Egypt politically stable. She too reiterated the administration's hope for a transparent.
The US also promised Egypt to refrain from divulging details of Mubarak's health to the press. Mubarak (81) recently underwent surgery for the removal of the gall bladder.
