WikiLeaks: 2008 terrorist attack against US envoys in Beirut foiled

Jordan foiled an al-Qaeda terrorist attack targeting a US embassy convoy in Beirut two years ago, documents leaked by WikiLeaks suggest.

According to a cable sent in November 2008, Jodanian intelligence services warned the US Embassy in Beirut of a possible al-Qaeda attack. The cable indicated the attack was meant to be carried out using a car bomb. (Roee Nahmias)
