Jerusalem Mayor Nir Barkat said that if the Ateret Cohanim foundation will insist on implementing the eviction warrant against the Abu Nab family, which lives in the east Jerusalem neighborhood of Silwan, he will make sure that the residents of Beit Yehonatan are evicted on the same day, in coordination with the police.
"We won't discriminate against Jews, for good or bad," he said. "Everyone is equal in the eye of the law." Barkat thus relieved himself of the responsibility for the implementation of both of the court-ordered warrants, and laid the groundwork for the sealing of Beit Yehonatan, which is expected to take place in the coming week.
