Legendary American musician Paul Simon recorded a special message Monday for his Israeli fans ahead of his upcoming concert
in the Holy Land.
"Shalom, this is Paul Simon," the singer says. "I'm looking forward to seeing all of you on the 21st of July at the Ramat Gan stadium. See you soon!"
Listen to the message from Paul Simon:
On Tuesday, the concert's production in Israel revealed new details on the big night. It turns out that unlike the Bob Dylan and Leonard Cohen performances at the same place, this time the stage will be built crosswise, so that the stadium will only be able to fit an audience of 24,000 people.
This is good news for those wishing to feel closer to Simon. "The viewing distance is now up to half of the distance in previous concerts," the production noted. "Due to strong demand on the part of ticket buyers, we decided to restrict two grass areas for special standing tickets at NIS 390 (about $115)."
In addition, special video screens have been ordered for the show and will be placed on both sides of the stage.
"The screens are 8 meters long and 6 meters high (26x19 feet), and are probably the biggest ever seen in Israel. The concert will be screened on them from a studio operating a set of cameras," the production said in a statement.
