Israeli exports to China totaled more than $1 billion in the first half of 2011 – a 33% increase compared to the same period last year.
China is ranked fourth on the list of Israel's export destinations – up six spots compared to 2009.
The number of exporters to China has grown by 7.5%, totaling 700 compared to 652 in 2009.
Despite the positive figures, Israel Export and International Cooperation Institute CEO Avi Hefetz notes that the potential of Israeli exports to China is still far from being materialized as it only made up about 0.17% of Chinese imports (excluding diamonds) in the past year – significantly lower than the global average.
