Chile fire: Israel offers aid to restore nature reserve
Following the arrest of the Israeli tourist Rotem Singer over suspicions he accidentally caused a mass fire in the country's Torres del Paine National Park, the Israeli Foreign Ministry announced that Israel empathized with Chile over the damages caused to rare nature reserves.
"Israel had experienced a similar disaster last year with the Carmel fire and the painful memory sharpens the sense of a shared fate," a statement stressed and added: "We are interested in sending a delegation of experts in the field of forestation to assist their colleagues in any wat they can."
