"Gaza is strong and will weather through" – the sentiment, posted on MK Ahmad Tibi's
(United Arab List-Ta'al)
Facebook page following the rocket-riddled
weekend endured by Israel's
southern communities, garnered over 700 "Likes" and 300 responses.
Tibi has since added a new post, in which he "Hopes the efforts to broker a ceasefire are successful because Palestinian and Israeli lives are more important than everything. Enough!"

Still, his first post was enough to irk other Knesset members. MK Danny Danon (Likud) urged the Knesset's legal counsel to expel Tibi from the House, calling him a "terrorist" and saying that "These kinds of status updates are inciting and fan the flames."
"Tibi is a terrorist disguised as a Knesset member. He has crossed every red line imaginable. In any other country he would spend the rest of his life behind bars," he said.
Danon called on the Knesset to fight "the terror cell developing within it," and demanded a Shin Bet investigation into Tibi's actions.
Tibi's spokesman said: "The current escalation was initiated by Israel, which has so far killed 21 people, including children. Nevertheless, we hope that a truce will come soon and stop this deterioration, both of the targeting killings and the missiles on the south.
"Those who initiated the killings knew what the response would be… We say again – there is no symmetry between the occupier and the conquered."
