Deytsch, an above the knee amputee, finished third in the Male Tri-5 event, with a result of 01:17:30. He was preceded by Yan Guanter of France and Martin Falch of Austria. Blitzblau finished thired in the Male Tri-6 event for the blind, with a result of 01:14:02. Lain Dawson of the UK finished first in the event, followed by Lazar Filipovic of Serbia.

Deytsch and Blitzblau are members of Tel Aviv's Beit Halochem Center, which caters to disabled IDF veterans.
Shlomo Nimrodi, an above the knee amputee, and Viola Chernoy, who has cerebral palsy, represented Israel in the competition as well. This year marks the first time that Israeli athletes take part in the paratriathlon, a competition that is expected to be incorporated in the Paralympic Games in Rio De Janeiro in 2016.
