If you happen to be in New York between June 1 and June 3 – expect a particularly exciting Israeli surprise.
New York's landmark building the Empire State Building will be lit in the colors of the Israeli flag in honor of Israel's 64th anniversary, Yedioth Ahronoth reported.
But that's not all.
On Sunday, June 3, Manhattan's Fifth Avenue will see the largest ever traditional Israel Parade. Painted in blue and white, the avenue will see 35,000 marchers and 29 floats.
Also joining the celebrations will be acrobats, rollerblade dancers, and clowns. More than 200 groups from New York, New Jersey, Connecticut and Israel will take part in the event.
It is estimated that tens of thousands of New Yorkers will show up to celebrate Israel's independence.
The event is a joint production of the US's Jewish community, the City of New York, the Israeli Consulate in New York and Israel's Ministry of Public Diplomacy and Diaspora Affairs.
A delegation headed by ministers Yuli Edelstein and Silvan Shalom will attend the event.
