Tnuva's CEO said Israel’s largest dairy company was hit hard by the social protest of 2011 and the cottage cheese protest that followed.
Speaking at a conference organized by The Manufacturers Association of Israel this week, Arik Shor said that while his company controls about 71% of the local dairy market, the social protest led it to decide to "begin a new chapter with the consumers – and the proof is already on the shelves."

The Tnuva CEO said that following the social protest, the company realized that it was "an integral part of this nation and must understand it."
"We are an Israeli company, and most of the raw material we use is local. All of our plants are in Israel," he said.
Shor said that as part of the implementation of lessons learnt during the social protest, "each product will have value – healthy nutrition at a fair price – to strengthen the trust between the company and our customers.
"We are relying on the wisdom of the masses," the Tnuva chief told the conference. "This is not a trend; it's the right way of doing business."
