VIDEO – A Holocaust educational video showing members of England’s football team touring Auschwitz is set to be distributed to secondary schools and colleges as part of the UK-based Holocaust Education Trust’s legacy project.

Filmed during the national side’s visit to Poland ahead of the Euro 2012 football tournament, the video shows England captain Steven Gerard reflecting on the teams meeting with Holocaust survivors and
quotes Gerard as saying that "as a footballer, you realize how lucky and privileged you are to lead the lives we are leading today."
England was just one of a number of football teams to visit Auschwitz during the Euro Cup, and 2012 was a record year – with over 140,000 people visiting the memorial site.
