Israel’s presence at this year’s conference, which runs from April 16 to 18, is big news and a tremendous honor, as it is the first time that another country – other than the United States – will be officially represented.
The TEDMED Conference brings together hundreds of doctors, and others working in healthcare for various presentations focused on everything from technology and medical issues to social networking.
At this year’s conference, attendees will be hearing from a number of Israeli biotechnology experts, doctors, academics, and medical professionals who will be showing off some of the newest technological advents to come out of the Jewish state, which is highly regarded as a world leader in technology.
Israel will also be the only country other than America which will have a booth at the conference, where some of Israel’s highly regarded start-up companies will pitch their products. Israeli officials are hopeful that some deals will be agreed upon between Israel and US companies during the event.
“Israel is known around the world as the startup nation, specializing in high-tech,” said Dr. Eitan Eliram, the new media advisor at Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office and one of two brothers who came up with the idea of Israel participating in the conference.
“Now the time has come to present Israel’s accomplishments in the areas of health, biotechnology, and pharma, in order to ensure that the word gets out about how Israeli innovations are changing the world.”
