Three branches of the Tommy Hilfiger
fashion brand in Israel
are about to be shut down: Two stores – for children and adults – at Eilat's Ice Mall, which were opened a year ago, and a store at Herzliya's Arena Mall.
The decision was made by the American brand's new owner in Israel, the Irani family, which also owns the Factory 54 chain and serves as the franchisee for the Levis, Diesel and Armani brands.
A fourth store, at the Sharonim Mall in Hod Hasharon, has already been closed due to losses.

US fashion designer denies rumor of racist remark made on Oprah Winfrey Show dating back 15 years. In special Yedioth Ahronoth interview celebrating 25 years of success, he says accusations 'ridiculous'
As first reported by Yedioth Ahronoth, international apparel corporation PVH, which owns the Tommy Hilfiger and Calvin Klein brands, has decided to transfer its franchise rights in Israel from the Sakal Group to the Irani family following a financial dispute with Haim Sakal.
Yedioth Ahronoth has also learned that the Irani family will soon receive the rights to the Calvin Klein brand, which will enter the Israeli market for the first time as a chain of stores.
The Irani family bought the rights to rent only three Tommy Hilfiger stores from Sakal: At the Ramat Aviv Mall, at the Gold Mall in Rishon Lezion and at Jerusalem's Mamilla Mall. It plans to introduce the brand into the Factory 54 chain and open additional stores in the future.
