After the marathon
and night run, the Tel Aviv Municipality is launching a new kind of race – but this time dogs are invited to participate alongside their owners.
The race will include two heats in a circular track: A 2-kilometer (1.25-mile) run and a 5-kilometer (3.1-mile) competitive run. There will also be a special heat for visually impaired people and their guide dogs.
The Pro Plan Doggie Run, which will be held in Israel for the first time in cooperation with the Purina pet food company, has been scheduled for Friday October 11, at Tel Aviv's Yarkon Park.

The Tel Aviv race will be the highlight of a major happening for dog lovers, which will be held at the Sporteque compound and will include dog training shows, lectures on dog breeding, a dog grooming area, advice from experts on dogs, product sales, and more.
Details about the race and an application form for NIS 99 (about $28) for the dog and its owner can be found on the www.proplan.co.il website or on Pro Plan's Facebook page.
