In honor of the occasion, the museum will display special exhibitions and hold unique events in the coming months in a bid to demonstrate the extraordinary richness of the museum's collection and the depth of its international relations.
The museum's international relations are (almost) as long as the State of Israel's 67 years. The world's greatest and most important leaders, famous stars and many other dignitaries visited the museum throughout the years.
In honor of the museum's jubilee, Ynet received access to its historic archive of pictures. Here is a collection of photos of some of the world leaders, dignitaries and stars who visited the Jerusalem institution in the past 50 years.

Now it's your turn
As part of the jubilee celebrations, the Israel Museum invites you to send pictures of your family and yourself visiting the museum,
from 1965 – when the museum opened to the public – until today. Now is the time to delve into your old photo albums and find mementos of your connection to the museum along the years.
A choice of these pictures will feature in ads and publications that will be produced in conjunction with the jubilee events.
