The operators of the Mount Hermon ski resort were pleasantly surprised on Friday to discover that several centimeters of snow had fallen on the mountain overnight. According to weather forecasters, it was the first time snow had been recorded on Independence Day since 1983.
The ski site announced Friday morning that it was open to all. In May, tours will begin at Mount Hermon so visitors can take in the spectacular blossoming of flowers at the highest peak in Israel.
