Breaching a terrorist's door in a matter of seconds

Ran Nakash, former commander in the IDF's elite Duvdevan unit, developed a technology that enables kicking down doors in seconds. Today, his company SAN Ltd. sells its tactical breaching kits to counterterrorism and rescue units worldwide; 'Our knowledge comes from the operational experience of counterterrorism units. The focus is on saving lives.'

Ran Nakash, a former commander in IDF's elite Duvdevan unit, has founded the Breach Unit at SAN Ltd and developed a tactical breaching technology that allows kicking down any door in seconds.

"When breaching a door to extract a wanted terrorist, you need to get it done smoothly, very quietly and by exposing yourself as little as possible," Nakash says.

"If an operation goes awry, it is the worst thing. When you work on the door, you know that behind it there might be an armed terrorist waiting, and you and your team could be in great danger," he explains.

His technology is considered the most advanced in the world today and is currently being used by all Special Forces in IDF, police, the Fire & Rescue Authority and elsewhere.

SAN Ltd's tactical breaching kit has also gained recognition and renown internationally and is being sold to different units in many countries around world.

SAN Ltd is an expert in the fields of combat and search and rescue and has over 10 years of experience.

Over the last 8 years, the company has developed a world-leading tactical breaching kits that incorporates innovative technologies with light materials that make it easy to carry and allow for a powerful set of tools that can break into any structure in top speed with minimum exposure for the force.

"During the terrorist attack in France last year, the units had a hard time entering the Bataclan theatre. That was one of the factors that led to so many casualties," said Gilles Perez, the manager of the Homeland Security and Aerospace unit at the Export Institute.

"SAN's product is exactly the tool that could significantly reduce the breakthrough time for Special Forces units. It is also very relevant for events in which every second counts in a matter of life or death."

Therefore, according to Gilles, it is essential for the use for special military forces and rescue units. "It's all a factor of how long it takes you to break in and how smoothly it goes."
