Israeli actor cast in German reality show Big Brother VIP
Zachi Noy, known in Germany for his role as Yudale in the Eskimo Limon movie franchise, will enter the Big Brother house in Germany for two weeks on Friday and compete for 100,000 euro prize; 'I'm known in Germany because of these movies, and I've performed there in recent years as well, so I wasn't really surprised of the offer,' he tells Ynet.
Israeli actor Zachi Noy was cast in the new season of reality TV show Big Brother VIP in Germany, Noy confirmed to Ynet on Friday.
The 64-year-old actor is known in Germany for his role as Yudale (or Huey in the English release) in the Eskimo Limon (Lemon Popsicle) movie franchise. The Israeli cult films tell the story of three teenage boys in the late 1950s in Tel Aviv who are obsessed with sex.
"The production approached me and I agreed," said Noy, who is expected to fly to Germany on Sunday. "I'm known in Germany because of these movies (Eskimo Limon), and I've performed there in recent years as well, so I wasn't really surprised of the offer."
The show's filming will begin this coming Friday, when Noy enters the Big Brother house for two weeks with other German celebrities to compete for a 100,000 euro prize.
"Of course Hebrew would've been easier for me, but I speak German and I don't expect any problems in that regard," Noy said. "I guess I won't have it easy there, and I'll have to deal with that. I'm aware of the fact I'll have to disconnect from my cellphone and the outside world, but it's okay to take two weeks away to rest."
He said he would not hesitate to do whatever it takes to win the prize, but clarified he hopes to avoid getting into political arguments. "Of course I'll defend Israel if the need arises, and I hope to also make Israel proud. But I don't want to go into politics, as I don't understand much about it, so I hope there won't be any need for that," he explained.
