Rivlin: 'Winds of revolution as majority rule becomes only rule'
President Reuven Rivlin spoke at the beginning of the Knesset's winter session, saying, "We're witnessing today the tides of revolution, or a second revolution to be more accurate (alluding to the first so-called "judicial revolution" of the 90s—ed.). This time, majority rule is creeping towards becoming the only rule. Instead of judicial review, we now find the political review and instead of a situation in which everything may be up for judicial review, now everything has been politicized."
"This revolution seeks to finally tear the supposed mask of hypocrisy from the faces of democracy's gatekeepers. The ruler has become the victim. 'We'll get them' has become the revolution's soundtrack," he added.
