Greenblatt with Michal Salomon and her children
Michal Salomon, who lost her husband Elad Salomon, her sister-in-law and father-in-law in the brutal Halamish terror attack in June, was hosted Monday evening at the White House, where she met, along with her five children, with President Donald Trump’s special Middle East advisor Jason Greenblatt.
“Privileged to welcome Michal Salomon, her 5 children & her father to the White House yesterday,” Greenblatt tweeted.
The murders occurred on July 21 when 19-year-old Omar al-Abed from the nearby village of Kobar broke into the Salomon’s home in the settlement of Halamish (Neve Tzuf) on a Friday evening and stabbed four people, killing three, as they celebrated their Shabbat meal, along with the birth of a new grandchild.
“Privileged to welcome Michal Salomon, her 5 children & her father to the White House yesterday,” Greenblatt tweeted.
“Her husband, sister-in-law, and father-in-law were brutally murdered by a terrorist at the Shabbat table. Michal & her children escaped certain death only because of her courage.”
The families of the victims first met Greenblatt when he, together with US Ambassador to Israel David Friedman and Defense Minister Avigdor Lieberman, paid a condolence visit to the family while the former was on a trip to Israel in the days after the murders took place.
In September, the IDF soldier who neutralized the terrorist was awarded a military citation during a ceremony in Ma’ale Adumim.
The three Israelis murdered were Yosef Salomon, 70, and his children Haya Salomon, 46, and Elad Salomon, 35.
