Most Palestinians and about half of Israelis no longer believe in the two-state solution because they believe it is no longer possible, an Israeli-Palestinian poll conducted by Palestinian pollster Dr. Khalil Shikaki and the Tami Steinmetz Center for Peace Research showed.
The survey showed that President Donald Trump's declaration recognizing Jerusalem as Israel's capital brought about a downturn in supporting a peaceful resolution to the conflict among Palestinians, and a simultaneous upswing in support for an armed struggle.
The rate of Jewish Israelis preferring a peaceful resolution also dropped, the survey showed, with the percentage of people supporting a decisive war rising compared to a previous poll.
