Leah Goldin marks 3 years since son's abduction with scathing letter

Three years have passed since her son was taken by Hamas terrorists in Operation Protective Edge, but she remains adamant; Leah Goldin, mother of fallen soldier Lt. Hadar Goldin, again slams the government for turning a blind eye to her son and their commitment to bring him home.

Leah Goldin, mother of fallen soldier Lt. Hadar Goldin whose body is still held captive by Hamas, sent an open letter Friday to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to all cabinet ministers and members of the Knesset marking three and a half years since the defense establishment's announced that Goldin has been kidnapped by the terrorist organization.

Leah reiterated her demand to pressure Hamas to returning all living and deceased Israelis they are holding captive, accusing Prime Minister Netanyahu of opposing her recent intent to join his envoy to Brussels to advance her cause because it "spoils the party for him."

"We asked to come to the conference to warn that humanitarian aid could not be provided to a party that itself violates international humanitarian law," she said.

"The Palestinian Authority is responsible for holding Hadar and Oron (Shaul) and violates international humanitarian law. We proved this a month ago at a meeting of the UN Security Council. There was a wall-to-wall consensus that the PA was legally responsible for Hadar and Oron and was violating international humanitarian law whenever it failed to bring them home.

"Anyone who is silent about injustice is a partner to injustice, no matter how big a kippah he has on his head."

Leah concluded by wondering why she and any other mother would have to fight for a country that does not fight for you.

"Everyone is silent and everyone shares the injustice of abandoning our soldiers, regardless of party, race, sex or religion," she concluded.

In January, the state has announced it has stiffened its medical entrance permit policy for Hamas members and their families, following a petition submitted to the High Court by the Goldin family.

In response to the petition, the state said an inquiry by the National Security Council turned up that the Cabinet's decision had not yet been implemented in full and that starting now, the NSC's head has instructed to ban Hamas members and their families from receiving permits to enter Israel, even for medical reasons.
