IAF attacks Hamas position in response to incendiary kites

IDF aircraft hit Hamas position in northern Gaza Strip after Palestinians flew incendiary kites from there in an attempt to set fires in Israel; army stresses strike has no connection to Deir al-Balah explosion that killed 6 Hamas members.

The IAF attacked a Hamas military position in the northern Gaza Strip near the border fence on Saturday night after Palestinians flew incendiary kites from there in an attempt to set fires in Israel.
This was the latest in several arson attempts from the Gaza Strip Saturday.

"We will continue to act against terror attacks above and below ground," the IDF said in a statement. "The Hamas terror organization is solely responsible for any terrorist activity emanating from the Gaza Strip."
The IDF also stressed there was no connection between the strike and the explosion in the city of Deir al-Balah in the central Gaza Strip earlier on Saturday, which killed six Hamas members.
During clashes on the Gaza border on Friday ,an IDF drone was able to bring done one incendiary kite, apparently by cutting its string.

However, rioters managed to down using slingshots two IDF surveillance drones used to monitor activities in the protest—a simple Phantom 3 drone and a more advanced Matrice type drone.
The IDF made clear that the scout UAVs were only used to document the border disturbances and that there was therefore no fear of classified intelligence being gathered from them.
