New Cuban leader Miguel Diaz-Canel hoted Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas Friday in Havana and gave him his support for the creation of a Palestinian state.
"Miguel Diaz-Canel reiterated Cuba's continued support for the inalienable right of Palestinians to form their own state, with pre-1967 borders and east Jerusalem as their capital," the Cuban official press reported.
Cuba also rejected "the unilateral decision of the US government to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of the State of Israel and to transfer its embassy to that city".
Mahmoud Abbas thanked Cuba for supporting its people, according to the Cuban News Agency.
