Suspect turns himself in

A palestinian driver who hit four IDF soldiers with his vehicle near the settlement of Beitar Illit on Saturday night in a suspected terror attack,
turned himself in to the IDF and Shin Bet on Sunday.
The four soldiers, among them three women and one man, were lightly wounded and later admitted to the Shaare Zedek Medical Center.
During an interrogation, the man claimed the event was a result of a car accident and told investigators that he has no history of previous security offenses. The driver initially fled the scene immediately after the incident into the nearby village of Husan.

The IDF spokesperson’s office said the soldiers, who serve in the Kedem Battalion in the Home Front Command, were on a foot patrol in the Etzion Regional Brigade at the time of the attack and likely had no time to retaliate.
In a separate incident on Saturday night, security forces apprehended eight suspected terrorists. Also, in the city of Halhul, hundreds of thousands of shekels intended for terrorist activities were confiscated by the Etzion Regional Brigade forces during the search.
